Wedding shoes designer Charlotte graduated from the prestigious Cordwainers with a BA Hons in Product Design & Development for the Fashion Industry. For her final degree show, Charlotte created a bridal footwear range and this is where her dream began. Charlotte’s long term goal was to concentrate exclusively on designing bridal footwear but she needed to gain industry experience before her dream could be realised.
Since graduating Charlotte has designed footwear ranges for many of the UK’s best known high street brands, working with factories in both Spain and the Far East. Charlotte is now ready to make her dream a reality.
“The design experience I have gained since graduating has really helped me to perfect my craft and develop my skills. Working with master craftsmen and travelling the world have been my greatest sources of inspiration.”
Love hearts provide the inspiration for Charlotte’s debut season, each style incorporating the theme in an individual and unique way.
Each of Charlotte’s shoe designs are handmade in Spain. The factory Charlotte has selected to work with has been making shoes for over 50 years which is evident in the attention to detail and quality of the finished product.
The Charlotte Mills shoe brand provides a fresh look to bridal footwear using a range of laser cutting, appliqué and embroidery to create unique styling. Each shoe is hand finished with a silver sixpence and the leather sole is embossed with the phrase
“Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.”
Charlotte hopes each bride will fall in Love with their wedding shoes and they will be a keepsake of their special day to treasure forever.
